Cleveland Cavaliers small forward, and arguably the current best player in the NBA, LeBron James, the reigning NBA champion, has now gone on record and stated that he wants to own an NBA team. The Cavs player has stated that his “dream is to actually own an NBA team”.
LeBron James, 31, has now played in 7 consecutive NBA finals, a remarkable achievement. But his ambition doesn’t end there as he now wants to continue to dominate the league in a different way. Being an owner of an NBA team is a deserving and ambitious dream for the player.
In doing so he would join the likes of Michael Jordan as a player to not only dominate the game, but to gain ownership stakes in a team. LeBron has not yet commented on which exact team he dreams of owning but it’s easy to agree the his home Cavaliers would be an option, as he is already the General Manager of the team.
This news comes on the heels of the announcement that the forward has signed a 3-year $100 million contract with the Cavs, making him the highest paid player in the NBA for the first time in his career.
What are your thoughts on King James’ announcement?
