Cleveland Cavalier guard, member of the defending champion team, Iman Shumpert was arrested in Metro Atlanta on September 9th. According to an incident report he was charged with possession of just short of an ounce of marijuana as well as failure to maintain driving lane. The car was pulled over just after 11:30 local time. According to the officer, Shumpert said he was en route to pick up his father from the airport.


The deputy arrested Shumpert after he fail several field tests and was handcuffed after the deputy determined it was unsafe for him to operate a vehicle. After a car search a backpack was found in the trunk, reported to have the ounce of marijuana.

The team released a statement saying they “will monitor the progress of the pending case”. There is no further comments from either representatives of the Cavaliers or Iman Shumpert.
