Abel Tesfaye debuts a new haircut, trading out his signature hairdo on the cover art for the upcoming album. The photograph was taken by photographer Nabil, who has worked with The Weeknd in the past. The Weeknd has stated that his Ethiopian roots are going to be more dominant on this album, providing a new sound to look forward to. On his previous track “The Hills” off his last album, he spoke a little bit of Amharic.
Previous rumors say The Weeknd spent some of the summer working with Daft Punk, although there is no confirmation of correlation with this album.
