I predict this year that the Eastern Conference will rise this year. There are some rumours going around that the Eastern Conference is in ruins as of late with what’s going around with the Celtics, Pacers, and Wizards. People are quick to highlight cases such as John Wall being ejected twice this week. But if you take a step back and look at the East as a whole, you soon realize that it’s not really the case.

The Cavs are looking phenomenal so far, for instance. You can definitely add the Toronto Raptors to that list, and the Bulls are looking decent now with Wade and Rondo and Butler. They have roughly the same number of above .500 teams and same number of teams with only 1 loss. That’s huge. In my opinion, that’s an upward trend when comparing to last season.

Another way to look at it is that maybe the teams that last year were looking right on top aren’t looking the same this year. We’ve seen evidence of this right from NBA opening night. The Warriors were ran out of the gym by 29 points.
